Hi5 (2): Crossover Couples!

Hi5 is a weekly meme hosted by myself, Nomes @ Inkcrush, & Anne @ Potter, Percy, and I in which we all share our top fives. Each Friday you can get the next day's topic at one of our blogs and link to your post in the Mr. Linky. Have fun!

This week's topic is:
Crossover Couples!

I love imagining what would go down if characters from different books met, and who would most likely kill or kiss each other. So this is my kind of topic! QUICK NOTE: I know some of these pairings are impossible for reasons other than existing in different literary dimensions, such as death, but please bear with me here people. Now, onward to thine list:

5. Magnus Bane and Jamie Crawford (The Mortal Instruments/The Demon's Lexicon)- I definitely can see them being a thing. They're both just so...different. But they're also very similar. Hm, hard to explain my theory with this one. Probably would've been my number one pick if I wasn't such a Malec fangirl.

4. Cameron Smith and Emma Vaile (Going Bovine/Deception)- I get choked up a bit thinking of Cameron, but alas I think these two would be perfect for each other. Their personalities really compliment each other. Also, anyone who's read Going Bovine knows good ol' Cam loves his love interest strong and more than a little badass. (Which Emma most certainly is.)

3. Lena Beaudonte and Gale Hawthorne (Infinite Days/The Hunger Games)- Anybody see it? Anyone? Okay, I just think they're both very strong characters and they're both very, very passionate people. There's definitely some possibility there...

2. Cassel Sharpe and Lena Duchannes (White Cat/Beautiful Creatures)- They both have famillies who for the most part suck eggs, they both have a crazy relative or two set on killing them, and they both are magic users who do not know the whole truth about their powers. Yup, I can definitely see them bonding over some stuff. Plus, Cassel needs at least one person who's actually  nice to him. Poor dude...

1. Alaska Young and Nick Ryves (Looking For Alaska/The Demon's Lexicon)- Oh sweet baby Jesus I think this would be hilarious to see. Nick thinks he can handle anything and anyone, so if Alaska Young rolled into town (probably the most unhandleable* chick on Earth) I think Nick would have his hands full. I see a lot of tension going on there, seeing as how they're both very strong-willed and pigheaded stubborn, but ultimately they'd be so hot for each other.

*Yes, I know that probably isn't a word. No, I don't care. I tend to make up words a lot if you haven't noticed.

Hey it's Quote Day!

I love quoting lines from books. Ask anyone I know.* (*gasp* Yes, I do know some living breathing individuals.) Someone will say something and I'll giggle to myself and mutter a line from a book under my breath and then the crickets start chirping and I walk away. Anyway, today I've decided to share some of my favorite lines:

The Demon's Covenant:

"Hey Jamie," said Seb. "Want a lift?"
"Hey Seb," Jamie responded without missing a beat. "Drop dead."
-I love Jamie so much. Definitely the best character in the series.

There's also another quote in which Jamie is trying to make Seb uncomfortable and says something like, "I want to work out to make myself more attractive. To men." I don't remember it word-for-word (obviously), but still wanted to give you the gist of it because it is hilarious and made me want to pull Jamie out of the book and hug him for days.

"Not really a party until someone brings the surprise zombies."-Indeed it is not.

The Mortal Instruments:

"Jesus!"
 "I doubt he'd fit."
-It's so wrong but it's also so friggin' right. I love this. I love this so hard. (By the way, this is Jace and Clary. Also, this doesn't make any sense whatsoever out of context. Sorry.)

"Have you tried talking to her?"
"No, we've been punching her in the face repeatedly. What, you don't think that will work?"
-Jace without sarcasm is like a Jersey Shore cast member without hair product. Never. gonna. happen.

Gone:

"Welcome to Perdido beach, where our motto is, 'Radiation, what radiation?'"
-I really don't know why I like this, I just do.

It was actually kind of fun digging through my books to find some good quotes. I think I'll do this again sometime. In other news, tomorrow is Hi5 day and the topic is:

Crossover Couples (YAY!) Take some of your favorite couples and hook them up with characters from different books. I already have some of mine ready!

*That is anyone that I speak to and who occasionally replies. Not like, 'Oh, J-Lo, yeah I know her.' That would just be an awkward conversation for all. Plus, if you met J-Lo I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want to discuss me and my quoting ways. Alright, I'm ending this post now...

Book Blogger Hop! (5)

*Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Jen @ Crazy For Books!

Hi hoppers! I'm Cara--thanks for stopping by the blog!!

This week's question is:

Q: Who is your favorite new-to-you author this year?

A: This is by far the hardest question so far because I've been introduced to so many amazing authors this year. And since I can't ever give a simple answer here's my list for your viewing pleasure:

  • Patrick Ness- I've only read the first book in his Chaos Walking series (The Knife of Never Letting Go), but it was complete brilliance and I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
  • Michael Grant- Same thing. I've only read Gone, but it is made of awesomesauce mixed with win and I really need to read the other books soon!
  • Sarah Rees Brennan- The Demon's Lexicon series is completely fantastic. Fantastic. If you haven't read it...go now. Grab a copy of both novels. Thank me when done. :)
  • Jandy Nelson- The Sky is Everywhere. A book of sheer genius. Love it, love it so hard.
I have many, many more authors I wish I could gush about, but I'll leave you in peace to enjoy other (I'm sure much more entertaining) blogs.

My shameless self-promotion for the week:

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Review: Deception by Lee Nichols!

Overall Rating: 4.7 out of five
Characters: 4.6 out of five

Plot: 4.8 out of five
Cover Art: 3.9 out of five
(I would like it much more if the necklace wasn't glowing.)
Originality: 4.5 out of five
Concept: 4.4 out of five

Favorite Line(s):

"'I never bite,' she purred at him. 'I only nibble.'
So I hated her already."- The voice, oh the VOICE. Love it.

And this next one wins for funniest nameless character:

"'What are you?' I asked a guy from Trig, wrapped in a mass of pink foam speckled with little dots.
'An amoeba.'
'Excellent.'
'Wanna pet my pseudopod?' he asked. Then he blushed and giggled and oozed away.-Am I the only one who cracked up?!

Synopsis:

When Emma Vaile's parents leave on mysterious business trip, it gives her the perfect excuse to be a rebellious teen. Throw some parties, get a tattoo (or maybe just a piercing), and enjoy the first few weeks of her junior year. Then her best friend stops talking to her, the cops crash her party, and Emma finds herself in the hands of a new guardian—her college-age "knight in J.Crew armor," Bennett Stern—and on a plane to his museum-like mansion in New England.

After enrolling at Thatcher Academy, Emma settles in by making friends with the popular legacy crowd. But she can't shake the strange visions that are haunting her. She has memories of Thatcher she can't explain, as if she's returning home to a place she's never been. Emma doesn't trust anyone anymore—except maybe Bennett. But he's about to reveal a ghostly secret to Emma. One that will explain the visions . . . and make Emma fear for her life.

Deception is one of those books that make 'huh' an abundant word in your vocabulary...
Honestly, I didn't know who was the mastermind behind anything. First I suspected Max, then Bennett, then Martha, then Harry, then Coby, then Sara. I never actually had a theory, because the possibilities seemed endless. That, my friends, is truly the main reason I loved this book so much. It keep me guessing.

I was on the edge of my mind's seat throughout the entire novel. Always suspecting everyone and everything of trickery. 'I'm on to you lamp! I know you come to life in Emma's sleep and clean the house!' I was becoming oddly paranoid for Emma and the other characters while simultaneously suspecting them all of being the one wreaking havoc on the others' lives.

Another thing that really pulled me in was Emma herself. The voice, oh the VOICE. I still imagine Emma struggling to get out of the book she somehow got locked into. Nichols has composed one of the most real characters I've ever read about. Her reactions are genuine. Her emotions are laid out for all to see. She stands up for herself and she ACTS LIKE A TEENAGE GIRL. (Sorry about the CAPS, but this was a very big reason why I love Emma.) She gets jealous, she gets frustrated, she sometimes takes her emotions out on the wrong people, she wants friends. She's real, and I love that.

The storyline was also very well developed and the book was paced to perfection. Nichols employed the perfect amount of twists and turns to keep me interested while allowing for character development as well.

Summing it up:

Loved this book! I definitely recommend to any fan of YA.

What I want in my mailbox... (7)

What I want in my mailbox is my version of Waiting on Wednesday hosted by Jill @ Breaking the Spine.

This week's pick is...interesting. See, I don't actually know the title of the book I want. Or what the cover looks like. Or what it's about. Confused yet? Good.

I'm down here. The thing is that I recently finished reading Deception by Lee Nichols, the first book in the Haunting Emma series. And I need more. That whole damn book is one giant cliffhanger and I need to know what happens next. I've included a picture that I believe sufficiently illustrates what I must've looked like after finishing this:

My words: "Seriously? Like, seriously, that's how you're going to end it Nichols? I'm on to you and your audience hooking ways."

But you'll hear more about that in my review. :)

Since I can't give you a summary or picture for Haunting Emma book 2, I'll give you all that good stuff for Deception:

Summary:

By the way, I hate this synopsis. With a passion. I almost didn't read Deception after that horrid synopsis. It deprives readers the knowledge that this book is compiled of several layers of awesome.

I highly recommend Deception and hope you'll stop back for my review tomorrow!

Leave a link to your Waiting on Wednesday or similar post and I'll most definitely stop by!

Author Interview: Kimberly Derting!

Recently, I had the amazing opportunity to ask Kimberly Derting, author of The Body Finder a few questions. If you haven't read The Body Finder, do it. Seriously, I loved it so much.

First a little background info:

Synopsis:
Violet Ambrose is grappling with two major issues: Jay Heaton and her morbid secret ability. While the sixteen-year-old is confused by her new feelings for her best friend since childhood, she is more disturbed by her “power” to sense dead bodies—or at least those that have been murdered. Since she was a little girl, she has felt the echoes the dead leave behind in the world . . . and the imprints that attach to their killers.

Violet has never considered her strange talent to be a gift; it mostly just led her to find dead birds her cat had tired of playing with. But now that a serial killer has begun terrorizing her small town, and the echoes of the local girls he’s claimed haunt her daily, she realizes she might be the only person who can stop him.

Despite his fierce protectiveness over her, Jay reluctantly agrees to help Violet on her quest to find the murderer—and Violet is unnerved to find herself hoping that Jay’s intentions are much more than friendly. But even as she’s falling intensely in love, Violet is getting closer and closer to discovering a killer . . . and becoming his prey herself.

Now, onward to the interview:

Can you describe The Body Finder in a sentence?

KD: A girl who can find dead bodies and the boy who loves her.

Violet's ability is very unique, what was the inspiration for it?

KD: The idea behind The Body Finder actually came from my husband, who said to me (one day while we were driving): 'What if there was a kid who could find dead bodies?' Of course, in his head it was a middle school boy, because that's how he thinks. But I loved the idea...as long as it was a girl, and she was in high school, and had a love interest. It took some time to hammer out the rules of her creepy ability (how she would find the dead bodies), but once I did, I was obsessed with getting her story on paper. To this day though, my husband will still refer to himself as my co-author!

How do you think you'd react if you were in Violet's position? Go after the killer, or find someplace to hide?

KD: Run. And. Hide! I am definitely not the heroic type, I'll push you out of the way to save myself from a bee. Seriously! So, a serial killer? Please...I'd be running for the hills!!!

Which character do you relate to most?

KD: Well, since I'm not chasing after killers any time soon, it's definitely not Violet. And as much as I hate to admit this (because she's so snarky), I think it has to be Chelsea...especially the high-school me. She's the say-it-like-it-is kind of girl even when people don't always want to hear-it-like-it-is! And because I enjoy writing her so much, Chelsea plays a much bigger role in the second book, Desires of the Dead.

Are there any books or authors that have inspired your writing?

KD: I think my first real inspiration was Stephen King, mostly because I wanted to do what he did, scare the pee out of people! Literally. When I was in junior high, we had a movie night at our house and watched The Shining. One of the girls was so scared that she wet her pants, and I realized right then and there...I wanted to do that too. Not pee my pants, but definitely scare someone that much.

How has the writing process been for you?

KD: I'm just gonna start by saying that I LOVE MY JOB!!! To the point that I become a little obsessive while I'm in the throes of writing a book. I'd say 'ask my family' but I'm afraid of the details they'd reveal: that I've forgotten to pick up my daughter from the school bus (thank god for helpful neighbors!), that I've resorted to eating Skittles as a meal more than once, that showering becomes 'optional.' Umm, yeah, I sometimes need to be reminded to 'take a break.'

The cover for Desires of the Dead was just released--it's gorgeous, by the way--can you tell us a little about what we should expect in the next installment?

KD: I can share the jacket copy from the ARCs:

When Violet Ambrose's morbid ability to sense the echoes of those who've been murdered leads her to the body of a young boy, she draws the attention of the FBI. She is reluctantly pulled into an investigation that will endanger more than just her secret...but her relationship and possibly her life as well.

Thanks so much for answering my questions! Any last words?

KD: Just thanks so much for having me here, I had a blast!!!

Thanks again to Kimberly for stopping by, and check out some of her websites below:

Teaser Tuesday! (5)

Teaser Tuesday is hosted by MizB over @ Should be Reading. Check out her blog to get the rules! There's no way I can just share two lines, so most of these will probably more like paragraphs.

This week's teaser is from Inkheart by Cornelia Funke! I've only read a few chapters, so this teaser will be a surprise for us all. :)

"Well, well, who do we have here?" he asked in a menacingly soft voice, his fingers around Pippo's thin little neck. "What do you say to that, Flatnose? She doesn't have time to play." Basta pushed Meggie roughly aside and came through the door with Pippo, followed, of course by Flatnose, whose broad shoulders would hardly fit through the doorway.
-pg. 294 US Paperback

The first question this teaser raises for me is: 'Who in the hell is this Flatnose fellow?' Followed by: 'Who in the hell is this Pippo fellow?' Followed then by: 'Who in the hell is this Basta fellow?' Which is followed by: 'How does Cornelia Funke come up with these names?' And finally: 'Well, her name is Cornelia Funke...'

Review: Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare!

Alright, so I'm trying very hard to get out of this review slump. What better way than to review a book I absolutely loved? I hope the fact that I did indeed finish this review (and feel pretty good about it) means I'm back. :)

Overall Rating: 4.99 out of five
Characters: 6 out of five
Plot: 5 out of five
Cover Art: 4.8 out of five
Originality: 4.9 out of five
Concept: 4.6 out of five

Favorite Line(s):
Wow, I had a lot of them. But I wouldn't expect anything less, seeing as how many quotable lines TMI has.
"'Pulvis et umbra sumus,' said Will. 'I believe we are dust and shadows. What else is there?'"-Love this. Love this so hard.

"'Will crossed his arms over his chest. His eyes glinted dangerously. 'Oh, I can never get enough,' he said. 'Which, incidentally, is what your sister said to me when-' "-My reaction to this: 'Ohhhhh!'

"'Yes, yes,' said Tessa impatiently, 'and thousands of women all over England would pay handsomely for the privilege of such an opportunity. Can we put aside the display of your wit for a moment?'"-And this, ladies and gents, is why I adore Tessa.

Synopsis:
Magic is dangerous—but love is more dangerous still.

When sixteen-year-old Tessa Gray crosses the ocean to find her brother, her destination is England, the time is the reign of Queen Victoria, and something terrifying is waiting for her in London's Downworld, where vampires, warlocks and other supernatural folk stalk the gaslit streets. Only the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the world of demons, keep order amidst the chaos.

Kidnapped by the mysterious Dark Sisters, members of a secret organization called The Pandemonium Club, Tessa soon learns that she herself is a Downworlder with a rare ability: the power to transform, at will, into another person. What's more, the Magister, the shadowy figure who runs the Club, will stop at nothing to claim Tessa's power for his own.

Friendless and hunted, Tessa takes refuge with the Shadowhunters of the London Institute, who swear to find her brother if she will use her power to help them. She soon finds herself fascinated by—and torn between—two best friends: Jem, whose fragile beauty hides a deadly secret, and blue-eyed Will, whose caustic wit and volatile moods keep everyone in his life at arm's length...everyone, that is, but Tessa. As their search draws them deep into the heart of an arcane plot that threatens to destroy the Shadowhunters, Tessa realizes that she may need to choose between saving her brother and helping her new friends save the world...and that love may be the most dangerous magic of all.

Clockwork Angel is, in summary, made of so much awesome it practically spills from the pages.
It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of The Mortal Instruments (City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass, and soon to be City of Fallen Angels), so I'll be honest, my expectations for this book were high. Like, 'This is going to be the second coming of Christ,' high. The second coming of Christ it is not, but one of the best books I've read this year it is.

Tessa is a girl who basically gets her life tossed into the spin cycle. She's alone in London being held prisoner by a couple of creepy old sisters who get a kick out of causing her pain. Not to mention the fact that her body is constantly changing (and not in the 'Oh, she's becoming a woman sense.' She's literally a shapeshifter.)Because of this, she's obviously not dancing around singing show tunes. She's not moping around, fretting over how much her life sucks and not doing a damn thing to change her situation either. This is when my love for Tessa blooms. Within the first few pages I fell in love with her voice. She's a strong lead, with a sharp tongue. She's confused and caring and confident and a whole page full of words that begin with 'c'.

Tessa has a great voice and is well developed, but so are ALL of the characters. Even the minor characters are interesting and relatable. One of my favorite--I wouldn't call her minor at all--characters is Jessamine. She's not in many of the key scenes, and it's her absence that's interesting. She's a shadowhunter, so when she's not around for important shadowhunter-y discussions I wondered where she was and what was going on in her head. Basically I kept thinking 'Why is she the way she is?' I can't wait to see her develop more throughout the series as well as Henry*, Charlotte, Sophie, and even Nate**.

Now onto the love triangle/square/pentagon/signatureCassandraClare thing: Jem and Will are night and day. Completely and utterly different. From their looks to their personalities and reactions they seem to have nothing in common besides being shadowhunters. And the fact that they both have the hots for Tessa. Will is the one you initially want to know more about, being the brooding hot guy, but by the end I wanted to know more about both of them equally. Will is the first to catch your attention with his snark and good looks, but Jem is the one who makes you increasingly more curious. Will gives nothing, while Jem gives everything. I'm leaning towards one 'team' right now, but I'm sure it will keep changing with every twist and turn throughout The Infernal Devices.

The plot is very interesting, and I loved seeing Tessa learn about her power and the Shadow World. It was very different, but much the same as the experience Clary had in City of Bones. They're both new to the world, dragged into it by some familial issue, but while Clary is a shadowhunter, Tessa is a downworlder. Because of this their experiences were vastly different and I loved that. It was also fun seeing the connections between the series'. Every time a certain cat-eyed fellow came I practically screamed, 'MAGNUS!' Do not fear, he is still flashy, just 1878 flashy. Oh, and the Lightwood angst is definitely present. :)

Overall, I loved jumping into the world Clare created and can't wait to get my hands on the rest of the series. Fans of TMI and first time Shadow World visitors alike will devour this novel.

Summing it up:

Clockwork Angel is a fantastic start to this new series and you're lamer than a popped collar if you don't pick this up! Clockwork Angel hits shelves*** on August 31st, as if you didn't know, so pick up your own copy!

* I love Henry. Even if he's a little scatter-brained. :)
**He's such a weak character. As in, 'You took my ice cream so I'm going to stamp around and mope until I get my way!' I hope he grows a pair in Clockwork Princess.
***I never quite understood this phrase. It makes it seem as though booksellers around the world are flinging books at shelves.

Hey, Review Slump. Not so nice to meet you.

I have a problem.

I have no idea what to say about a book in my review.

This has been happening often lately.

I don't know what to say, and rather than not give these books the review they deserve I call on you, lovely followers.

Please link to your review (or someone else's, I could care less) of any of these and I'll edit this post as and if they come in.

I think my review slump is over, as I have a review for Clockwork Angel raring to go.

To you and these lovely books: Sorry for being lame.

To make up for it I'm including your daily dose of eye candy:

Just one question: Has this ever happened to anyone? Have you ever lost your review mojo?

Thanks to Alyssa @ Teens Read and Write I can give you a review of Shadow Hills! I agree completely with every point she brought up. Definitely gets the Cara Seal of Awesome. (:

Hi5 (1): Five Titles That You're Crushing On!

Hello all, and welcome to the very first Hi5! Hi5 is a weekly meme hosted by myself, Nomes @ Inkcrush, & Anne @ Potter, Percy, and I in which we all share our top fives. Each Friday you can get the next day's topic at one of our blogs and link to your post in the Mr. Linky. Have fun!

This week's topic:
Top Five Titles You're Crushing On

Titles are the most 'eye catching' thing about a book in my opinion. A lot of book recommendations come from word of mouth, where covers don't matter. That being said some titles draw me in, while some fall flat. This week I'll be sticking with the positive and sharing the top five titles that make me swoon.

5. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins--Ah, this title. *hugs* Everything about it draws me in. Hunger. Such a provocative word. Games. Why would games be focused around hunger? (Assuming that it's not some lame diet show, which would be a horrible idea for a YA novel anyway.) Mmmm. It leaves such a nice image in my head. Love.

4. Dead is Just a Rumor by Marlene Perez-- This is sarcastic. I like sarcasm. So, this is kind of perfect. I really love the way I'm already imagining the voice of this story. Genius.

3. The Miracle Stealer by Neil Connely-- This is just so interesting to me. The Miracle STEALER. How does one, exactly, steal a miracle? It definitely draws me in, makes me want to know more about the book and the characters. Once again, interesting.

2. The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson--Love this book, love this cover, love this title. Love everything. The title reflects the story so well. The airy, light feel of Jandy Nelson's writing and the sentimentality that comes with the subject matter. Perfect for this book.

1. Hold Me Closer, Necromancer by Lish McBride--I can't describe how much I adore this title. It brings up so many questions before I even turn the first page. Who's this necromancer? Why does someone want them so much? I know I would want a necromancer to hold me closer [wink, wink], but why does this particular person feel this way. So many questions brought up. Fantastic!

Honorable Mentions:
Unraveled by Gena Showalter
The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare
You Are Not Here by Samantha Schultz

I have NEWS.

I have lots of fun news-like things to tell you! Yay!

First: I have affiliates! *throws confetti*

These two lovely ladies who've agreed to put up with me are Nomes from Inkcrush and Anne from Potter, Percy, and I! We all put together some interview questions to answer so you all can get to know us a little better:
Five Facts

1. Last book you bought/ordered?

Anne: I preordered Linger a few weeks ago from the Book Depo. It wasn’t released until the 20th (even though it had been moved up), so I still haven’t gotten it!!! :(

Cara:  I actually had a buying spree (Well, it was a spree to me.) and bought Linger, The Alchemyst, & The Secret Hour. Alright, so it's technically not a spree.

Nomes: The Body Finder. Pre-order, paperback. Now, I’m suddenly noticing everyone raving and November feels like a crazy way away.

2. Favourite snack to eat while reading?

Anne: Anything. I don’t typically eat while reading unless its a really good book.

Cara: Anything within arm's reach that doesn't move when I poke it.

Nomes: Chips are the ultimate. Chupa-chups, mmm. Never chocolate - too risky for the hallowed pages.

3. Favourite childhood book

Anne: When I was little, I loved Babar and Angelina Ballerina. Then I moved on to Magic Tree House, Junie B. Jones, etc.

Cara: Are You My Mother? Seriously, that book rocks. I made my mom read it to me every night until I was six. She hated it. (;

Nomes: My dad used to read Little Black Sambo to me like he was auditioning for an Academy award. I was a Blyton-aholic and tried to be cool by reading lots of TinTin around my big brother and his mates.

4. Favourite comfort re-read

Anne: Any Harry Potter. Or Percy Jackson... Or Beautiful Creatures. Or any other book I love.

Cara: The Mortal Instruments series. I love the characters so much that I slip right back into the story every time. Also, The Sky is Everywhere.

Nomes: Jaclyn Moriarty’s Finding Cassie Crazy (The Year of secret Assignments). It’s like a drug, that book.

5. First literary crush

Anne:... None that pop into mind...

Cara: I’ll admit it, Jasper from Twilight. God he’s so angsty.

Nomes: confessions of a past seven year old... Julian from the Famous Five. I know, hindsight clearly shows Dick’s the spunkiest brother :)

Fast Five

1. Pirates or ninjas?

Anne: Ninjas. You don’t even know they’re there until you’re dead! How awesome is that??!!

Cara: Seriously? Ninjas are made of win, while pirates walk about making chainsaw noises.

Nomes: Pirates. Ninja’s prance about in poncy outfits and their stealth has nothing on a swash-buckling treasure-hunting lifestyle.

2. Zombie Apocalypse or Alien Armageddon?

Anne: Zombie Apocolypse. Aliens usually come in peace.

Cara: Zombie Apocalypse! You could not have picked a more perfect question if you pulled it out of my head. I literally own a Zombie Apocalypse survival guide. It's gonna happen.

Nomes: Zombieeeesss. I will create my own sisterhood. You can join me. Conditions apply.

3. Gale or Peeta?

Anne:  Never read them! (I know, I know. I’m a disgrace! Hahahahaha! I’ll read them soon!)

Cara:  I say, "Down with Dough Boy!" Nah, Peeta's okay. Gale's just better. (;

Nomes: Peeta sulks. Gale broods. Brooding wins out any day.

4. Flight or invisibilty?

Anne: I want both! Flight would be best, though.

Cara:  Invisibility. Do you realize how much fun I could have? [insert evil laugh here]

Nomes: Flight. Also, kinda wishing teleportation or time-travel was an option.

5. Rough it out camping or 5 star hotel?

Anne: 5 star hotel all the way.

Cara: I’d go Harry Potter camping. Ya know, where the tent is the size of a mansion?

Nomes: Camping! There’s something about a campfire that makes even the stupidest conversations somehow noble and profound.

Second: We're starting a meme! *throws even more confetti*

Hi5 is a weekly meme hosted by all three of us. Basically, we'll post our top five of something every Saturday. Every Friday we'll post the next day's topic and anyone who wants to participate can put their link in the Mr. Linky on any of our sites. Sound interesting? I hope so! This week's topic is: top five titles that you're crushing on. I hope you guys decide to participate! Here's the graphic!:

Pretty sweet, right?

I think that's it for now, have a great weekend everybody!
