Post-Mockingjay Depression (NO SPOILERS)

Post-Mockingjay Depression:

I have it.

Some of you probably have it too.

I literally finished reading the last installment in the epic world of The Hunger Games not two minutes ago, so be warned that this post is what I'm thinking right now, and my views will probably change immensely when it comes time to write my final review.

The first thing that comes to mind: disappointment. I'm not trying to scare anyone off. Suzanne Collins is brilliant and the book was overall just as good as the other two installments, but...I really would've liked to see more. It felt rushed to me and a little forced at times. I know I can't speak for all readers, but my expectations were at such a high level that almost no ending would ever reach them. This fact leaves me with mixed feelings towards this whole thing.

I don't know if I'm just upset that the series is ending. Or that because I didn't like the ending. Or if I'm just a little crazy after the emotional roller coaster Mockingjay takes you on.

I don't know what it is, but I'm fried after reading that. So now I'm going to go watch some pointless YouTube videos and try to salvage some of my sanity.

Any thoughts from people who've read Mockingjay? Tell me in a comment or if you want to talk spoilers send me an e-mail I'm dying to talk with someone about it!

I'm so there.
Mockingjay drained me too! It lessens after a few days but I am still glaring at the book on my shelf like, WHY? It is one of my favorite books, and yet, I kind of hate it.

Omygoodness I've been doing the same thing! I'll just be sitting there and then it comes into my field of vision. I glare for a few seconds then try not to look at it anymore.

I just don't even know how I feel about it yet.
I'm emailing you in a minute because I need to do some very spoilery venting. But I know exactly how you feel...

THANK YOU LIZ! I'm emailing you back right now!
I finished reading it two days ago and I'm still bummed. I definitely know what you mean when you say you don' t know if it's because the series is over or the way it was written. I loved the first two, I just want to know what happened with the third one! Why?!
I just finished reading it not more than 10 minutes ago, and I'm still shaken. The ending was just so abrupt, unfinished. Too realistic perhaps. I had expected something... as Peeta would put it... shinier? I feel that Collins let me down. She lured me in, set off a bomb, and just as I was recuperating, it went off a second time. This time, my mental faculties are so damaged, I'm not sure how long it'll take to rebuild. I hope a good night's sleep will fix me up.
